OAK GROVE UPPER ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Welcome to Oak Grove Upper Elementary. We are
located on Old Hwy 24, just off of Hwy. 589 south towards Purvis. Our
890 4th & 5th graders along with our almost 100 faculty and staff are
enjoying our 5th year in our new school.
OGUE has consistently been a Mississippi Department of
Education High Performing School with a QDI rating of 196. At OGUE
we set very high expectations for student achievement as well as student
behavior. Following the mission of Lamar County School District we
work with students daily to become lifelong learners in order that they
may make a positive contribution to our society. Through the various
clubs at our schools students are afforded the opportunity to give back to
our community through various service learning projects.
OGUE is a Title I School in Lamar County and receives
extra funds to help ensure that academic needs are met for our students.
This year, those funds have been spent on providing educational tutors for
students who need additional academic assistance, resource materials for
parents, and technology equipment to enhance the learning process in the
classroom. We encourage parental and community input on how this
money is spent each year. If you have suggestions please do not
hesitate to contact us through the information link on our home page.
If you have not already joined our Oak Grove Upper
Elementary PTO, we need you. We welcome your involvement, support
and cooperation. We are also often in need of volunteers to help
with projects in the classroom. If you are willing to come and "lend
a hand" or offer your expertise on a given topic, please contact your
child's teacher.
